bullsh*t "sting" operation nabs "pervert" in Ohio...

so, this FIREMAN in Columbus, OH, goes by a certain park every day and keeps noticing a female sunbathing topless (which is apparently legal there--cool). on his day off, he strolls by and strikes up a conversation with her. all the while she is writhing about on the ground and, at one point, even throws her leg over his shoulder. eventually, she asks him to show her his penis. he complies, and immediately, some overweight police officers wearing shorts come over and arrest him.

he's just been convicted of public indecency.

ABC did a story on it, and it's on their website under the title, "Topless Woman Lured Perverts in Police Sting". video of the entire incident is in the story, but, it's grainy and there's no sound. but, it seems clear to me that this guy was no "pervert", just a guy who did something stupid and got caught. if i was looking at a woman's breasts and she asked me to whip it out, i would have to say my, um,
defenses may be slightly impaired.

this angers me no end. i also believe that "johns" busted by undercover cops posing as streetwalkers are getting a raw deal. if the opportunity were not there, no crime would've been committed. aren't "real" crimes feeding our legal system enough? according to recent government reports,

clearly, we're jailing plenty of people. and that's just the numbers who are actually in jail! what about all of the people who are arrested for misdemeanors and don't do jail time? we're really talking numbers, here...

isn't it weird...these guys can set up this sting and bust this unfortunate fireman. meanwhile, i'm sure there are illegal aliens abound in their neck of the woods...that are needed because we don't have enough "americans" who will do the jobs, y'know, like construction... well, why not just stop targeting people for doing stupid, but basically harmless things? let's focus this imaginative energy on stings for businesses that hire illegals! leave AMERICANS alone! whatever happened to our FREE country?

you would think that ACLU lawyers would put an end to this kind of crap, pronto. but, if you think about it, the ACLU is only a subset of a much greater set...THE LEGAL PROFESSION. you know, the ones who benefit from crime and the expansion of what is "criminal", from the writing of the laws to the interpretation of the laws to the enforcement of them...it's the power grab that never ends. and, to think, many americans want to give them the power over their health care...sheesh...

finally...a political ad worth watching....

uber-anti-illegal alien crusader and republican presidential candidate Tom Tancredo has just released a WHOPPER of an ad (probably the best since Goldwater's "daisy" ad in the '64 campaign), and the only way you'll probably ever see it is to click here, because they've yanked it off of YouTube for content...the same YouTube who routinely lets jihadi videos remain on their site no matter how much people complain.

his campaign will never make enough money to actually put this thing on TV anywhere.

i've heard comments to the effect of "it looks like he's claiming the Mexicans are terrorists", but i don't see it.

if you don't believe the islamo-fascists are infiltrating this country, due to our porous borders and weak enforcement, how about a story from YESTERDAY about how an illegal alien woman who worked for the CIA and the FBI pled guilty to conspiracy, unauthorized computer access, and naturalization fraud in a US district court. she had links to hezbollah. she's not allowed to leave the country now, due to the sensitivity of the information she accessed. and, of course, we can't forget the 9/11 hijackers, who all overstayed their visas.

Amsterdam cutting back on brothels

...supposedly for developing new shops and housing, and to cut back on the crime related to the legalized prostitution, according to this story by the BBC...

so the plan is to cut the windows the ho's ply their trade in by 1/3 or so. sex-trade activists are speaking up:

apparently, they've been eyeing closing some of the red-light district down for awhile. back in Dec 2006, this BBC report predicted that the action would be taken by the end of the year (which, hmmmm... means they're about right on schedule).

"We're not knights on a morality crusade, and this is intended to target financial crime, not prostitution per se," city spokesman Martien Maten told the Associated Press news agency.

Since the spokesman insists that this is not about a "morality crusade", it makes me wonder...

okay, maybe it's not HIS morality crusade, but what about their ever-increasing new immigrant population, y'know--the ones who aren't quite so "tolerant"? speaking to some young muslim women in amsterdam:

according to the AP, "Calderon blasts US immigration policies":

MEXICO CITY — President Felipe Calderon blasted U.S. immigration policies on Sunday and promised to fight harder to protect the rights of Mexicans in the U.S., saying "Mexico does not end at its borders."

The criticism earned Calderon a standing ovation during his first state-of-the nation address.

"We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers," he said. "The insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle ... for their rights."

He also reached out to the millions of Mexicans living in the United States, many illegally, saying: "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico."

i say let's just give them back California, and we'll call it even..

The British Are Leaving! Great Britain, that is...

i ran across this link earlier today on instapundit's blog: "4000 People a Week Trying to Leave UK"

The country’s biggest foreign visa consultancy firm has revealed that applications have soared in the last seven months by 80 per cent to almost 4,000 a week. Ten years ago the figure was just 300 a week....They are almost all young professionals and skilled workers aged 20-40.

i wonder why? according to the visa consultancy firm referenced above:

Director Liam Clifford says: "Since January 2007, we have recorded an 80% rise in British nationals applying to move overseas. As this rise continues, so does the number of enquiries we receive from people asking for help in migrating to a new country. In recent months, we have received as many as 4,000 requests in a single week from people who have had enough of Britain and want to get out."

He adds: "Ironically, the main reason for these people leaving the UK is the over-stretching of services caused by inbound immigration to the UK. We are aware of the issue of so-called ‘white flight’ from certain inner city areas to the suburbs but now people are increasingly seeking a better standard of living offered by other countries.

"This phenomenon adds to the existing shortage of skilled workers already faced by the UK as they leave only to be replaced by low skilled EU A8 workers or low skilled refugees."

this problem has apparently been creeping up for years, but has literally exploded recently. i found this article from the august 31, 2006 issue of the christian science monitor warns of the same problem. it references a "recent" BBC report which found that 13% of Britons planned to emigrate in the near future!!

the CS monitor article (from '06) pointed out that 350,000 Brits were emigrating each year. the latest stats that 4000 Brits were trying to obtain visas to live abroad each week adds up to 4000 X 52 weeks = 208,000/year trying to officially leave, which is less than the previous figure--maybe they don't take into account people who just leave without applying for the visa. anyway, those are HUGE numbers.

why the hurry to leave? could it have anything at all to do with THIS?

British Muslim blogger Yahya Birt weighed in on this issue on dec 31, 2006, in a long post on his blogsite. the post is pretty interesting, because it's mainly a critique of a book called "Time to Emigrate?" by George Walden, a former Conservative Education Minister. Birt argues, point by point, how Walden is a laughable "islamophobe". but, in reading the post, you can almost sense how stiff this guy Birt's spine is. it's pretty cocky stuff.

"(Walden) is particularly cutting about the English people’s hypocrisy and cant, and what he sees as their ability to trot out the usual platitudes about Islam and multiculturalism, without saying what they really think."

to me, this reads like a guy who knows he's onto something. further down:

"The English, with their usual stoic resignation, rather than kicking up a fuss about these sea-changes, he argues, are quietly leaving. The lion no longer roars but is abdicating."

i don't know how much of this last quote was Walden's or Birt's, but Birt seems to take a certain glee in paraphrasing it. "the lion no longer roars but is abdicating"...a.k.a. giving up. scary stuff.

couple this with Mark Steyn's thesis which he lays out in "America Alone" that europeans don't have enough babies to sustain their population, and in order to afford the vast social services they expect, they have to import their population...which millions of muslims are only too happy to oblige. what a time bomb this whole situation is. declining birthrates + more muslim immigrants + political correctness + increasing muslim electoral power + radicalization of the muslim youth + "british stoicism" + "i'm starting to not recognize this place anymore" = LET'S GET THE HELL OUT OF DODGE.

british authorities are worried. their finding themselves sending more and more pensions abroad. in other words, CAPITAL DRAIN. the brains of britain are leaving, and are being replaced by unskilled laborers. maybe these guys should start passing around dogeared copies of "atlas shrugged"...

1-my FIRST DAY IN THE SENATE, i introduce a stand-alone bill which will fund the "GAY BOMB"
2-i'll build the border fence...every last inch. it may be penetrable, but the symbolic value is PRICELESS...remember how they used to say that the great china wall was visible from SPACE??
3-i'll put an IMMEDIATE stop to the harassment of AMERICANS at airports. from now on, we'll use SCIENCE (in the form of statistical evidence) to rigidly use the harshest forms of discrimination possible to search only the most likely "bad guys". if anyone slips through this net, we'll re-examine, without apologies--the freedoms which real americans have fought & died for must be preserved, even if security is compromised.
4-i'll introduce the Fair Tax.
5-i'll introduce a bill to legalize gay marriage. my thought is, given the fact that about 1/2 of all marriages end in divorce, let's GIVE THIS JOB TO THE PEOPLE WHO WILL DO WHAT THE HETEROSEXUALS WON'T DO.
6-i'll call for an IMMEDIATE end to the iraq war. with the introduction of the "gay bomb", we should only be left with people who are committed to the "democratic" future of iraq. let the most "passionate" win, at whatever cost. we got rid of saddam...that's been our policy since the clinton administration. as lame as their politicians seem, ...we really can't talk.
7-i'll call on the billionares of the world to buy all the nukes from the former soviet union.
8-and, last, but not least...i'll wear the same drab grey suit every day to the senate floor. i'll pick my ties off of the rack at spencer gifts. i'll gladly accept the $165K salary. i'll take no money from lobbyists. i'll find a friend and sleep on his/her floor. after one term, i'll quit, and go back to rock.

who is this guy working for? does he have any CLUE about poll results regarding the "comprehensive immigration bill? well, maybe, if you believe MSM press 'reports on the "results" of these polls. interestingly, in this bloomberg account i've linked above, sen. john mccain has been sinking in the polls, even though he is a STRONG supporter of the bill in question. do the people who write these stories think we're stupid? ignorant? we can't READ?
