ho-hum...another terrorist plot foiled..

it looks like the plan was to blow up the jet fuel lines at JFK airport, which, one of the muslim suspects surmised, would not only shut down air traffic in the area, but would probably set the borough of Queens ablaze as well, killing thousands...

most reports i've read or seen on the telly make sure to not that these would-be terrorists have no connection to al-queada. the point they seem to miss here is that "al-queada" is only one of the heads of the serpent. they seem to want us to believe that the lack of a "connection" somehow diminishes the potential threat, instead of realizing that Jamaat al Muslimeen (the terror organization these four were affiliated with) and other groups like Hezbollah, etc...operate pretty much on a free-lance basis, united with all of the other groups by an ideology. they have figured out that Western societies are easily penetrated and they can move freely about them, with privacy rights allowing them to plot as they please (until they screw up somewhere and get noticed..).

charles johnson and the gang over at little green footballs are all over this and doing excellent work digging deeper than the MSM, as usual, plus pointing out how the kooks over at the daily kos think it's all bullshit.

it would be really nice if those on the left would wake up and take this seriously, for a change. the best way to fight this is probably the "clinton way", that is, make it police work (but, with a non-judiciary twist...like, let's catch 'em, find out who else is involved, and get rid of them--NOT put them through our legal system). it's obvious that our military, as presently configured, is not up to this challenge. if we were up against another military, this might be a different story. but, we're not. we're up against people who are technologically adept, using the internet as a recruiting tool and for communication. what's our military supposed to do? blow up the internet? it's frustrating. it's frustrating to me that we're bogged down in iraq. it's frustrating to me that many critics of the iraq war had no problem with attacking afghanistan...i mean, did "afghanistan" attack us??

i've got many liberal friends...actually, 99% of my friends are libs. this is not an issue they want to confront at all. i don't know if it's just that they don't like confrontation, or if it's the "blame america first"/chomsky influence, or if they really just don't think it's a big deal..."where's osama?"

fjordman over at gates of vienna has just submitted another brilliant essay dealing with this whole convergence of marxism and islamic terrorism...which i think people should become aware of...especially considering that one of these JFK plot guys was a former member of the parliament of guyana, and guyana's in south america...and leftist movements are taking hold all over latin america bankrolled by venezuelan strongman hugo chavez...who's an ally of iran's president ahmedinejad...and who has reportedly offered a safe haven to hezbollah to use venezuela as a home for terrorist training camps...
